Dana White denied information about arranging a fight between Israel Adesanya and Paul Costa.
Nearly all martial arts media, including us, reported this morning that the fight for the UFC middleweight title, between Israel Adesanya and Paul Costa, arranged for the UFC 253 event to be held on September 19, is likely to be on Fight Island again.
But it seems we have rushed a bit on this information, as Dana White was not ready to confirm that fight. In fact, the UFC president has revealed how things stand at the moment.
“That’s not true, they both haven’t signed a contract yet. They were told no to say anything, but Combate immediately announced it as soon as it got the information. That fight hasn’t been agreed yet,” White told a news conference after the latest Fight Island show.
Since Costa announced that the fight has been arranged, it is assumed that Adesanya is the one who has not yet signed the contract, that is, with whom the UFC has still not been able to agree. Whatever the problems, we can only hope that they will be solved soon.
